After Furthur had completed Unbroken Chain, the band briefly left the stage and returned a few minutes later without Weir. Bassist Phil Lesh told the crowd that Weir had suffered a strained shoulder earlier in the day and the band would be finishing the second set without him. Furthur is scheduled to play next on Saturday night at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. It goes without saying, that everyone at JamBase wishes Bobby a swift recovery back to full-strength.
In other Cap news, Jerry Garcia’s daughter Trixie came out just before Furthur started their encore to announce the new Capitol Theatre bar will be named Garcia’s.
Here’s the setlist from tonight’s Furthur Cap Finale:
Set One: Feel Like A Stranger, Brown-Eyed Women, Minglewood Blues > He’s Gone > Me and My Uncle, Dire Wolf, Mason’s Children
