BOB WEIR UNABLE TO FINISH FURTHUR CAP RESIDENCY FINALE
BAR AT HISTORIC VENUE RENAMED GARCIA’S

Furthur guitarist Bob Weir was unable to finish the second set of tonight’s show at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY – the band’s 9th and final show of a lengthy residency at the historic venue. Reports have Weir struggling throughout the show, both on vocals and guitar, especially as the second set progressed, and eventually being helped into a chair onstage by two crew members.

After Furthur had completed Unbroken Chain, the band briefly left the stage and returned a few minutes later without Weir. Bassist Phil Lesh told the crowd that Weir had suffered a strained shoulder earlier in the day and the band would be finishing the second set without him. Furthur is scheduled to play next on Saturday night at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. It goes without saying, that everyone at JamBase wishes Bobby a swift recovery back to full-strength.

In other Cap news, Jerry Garcia’s daughter Trixie came out just before Furthur started their encore to announce the new Capitol Theatre bar will be named Garcia’s.
